Meet The Owners
Hi, we're Taylor and Brenna- the PROUD owners of Les Beans Co. 2021. We love good coffee and good people.
Honestly this kind of started on accident, because Taylor is a nerd. We started realizing some negative affects coffee was having on our stomach, and stopped drinking it all together. A friend of mine told me she had been diagnosed with stomach ulcers, which the doctors said was caused by coffee!
We started some research (finally- Taylor's biology degree coming in handy) and found it wasn't necessarily coffee that was unhealthy- but the QUALITY of the coffee we are consuming. After looking into it, we learned coffee should be drank (drunk...drunken...?) within about 1 month of when the raw beans are roasted... which is not the norm. This is because roasted coffee beans are a really good vector for MOLD- just like bread or dairy, and they don't have a long shelf life (AKA- way sooner expiration date than advertised).
Then we looked into buying our own roaster for personal use and found sources for ethically farmed raw coffee beans. We make small batches at a time, one roast = one 1/2 pound bag, so that it was always fresh. Immediately we noticed the difference in how we felt after our morning cup of joe- an the taste was incredible! Brenna is not one for black coffee, so if she likes it then you know it's gotta be good.
We had people from all over asking for fresh coffee which quickly turned into this business. After playing around with name ideas, we came up with Les Beans- it can be as french or as gay as you want it to be. Doing everything we can to be an LGBTQ+ run company who can give you the best coffee we can.
